Pergram Granted Tenure

Miami University is proud to announce the promotion and tenure of 32 faculty members and three librarians, following official approval by the Board of Trustees during their February 27 meeting. These changes will officially take effect on July 1.

The cohort represents a diverse range of disciplines, all united by a shared dedication to Miami’s “teacher-scholar” model. Chris Makaroff, interim provost and executive vice president of academic affairs, praised the group for its impact on both the academic community and the student body.

“It is a privilege to recognize these outstanding educators and scholars for their achievements,” Makaroff said. “Their contributions in the classrooms, labs, and cross-disciplinary learning spaces are helping to develop the next generation of thought leaders. I’m honored to work alongside them to advance our mission of student success.”

Before coming to Miami University in 2019, Pergram served as Assistant Professor of Bassoon at Soochow University in Suzhou, China (PRC) from 2014-2019. Marking 12 years of pre-tenure activity, Pergram now earns the title of Associate Professor and continues to pursue his passion for Sinospheric music.
