It fosters exchange and reflection and celebrates the sonic diversity that arises from the dialogue between two instruments.\n\n\n\nThis will be the debut event for Silkwind Mundi\, performing the premiere of Jarran Ahaz Armstrong’s Three Pieces for Bassoon and Sheng (2025). Silkwind Mundi commissioned Armstrong to write this work for the symposium.

SUMMARY:Recital—IDRS 2025 54th Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:Pergram will perform at the IDRS 2025 54th Annual Conference at Butler University\, Indianapolis\, June 10-14\, 2025. He will perform a recital entitled “A Garden of Stories\,” with pianist Miguel Campinho. This recital includes three unpublished works\, two of which were commissioned by Aaron Pergram\, highlighting the work of living women composers of the Chinese diaspora. Two works by the composer\, both for bassoon and fixed media\, tell stories from two significant periods of Chinese history: the Warring States Period and the pre-Qin period.
