The Oxford Choro Ensemble will perform an evening of Brazilian pop music featuring Choro, Samba, and Bossa Nova. Led by Thomas Garcia, Miami University professor of ethnomusicology, this trio will perform Choro, a Brazilian genre with similar roots of Ragtime and traditional New Orleans jazz. Also on the program are Samba and Bossa Nova, Brazil’s most popular musical exports. The ensemble is thrilled to be performing live and in person once again at OCAC. The ensemble includes Thomas Garcia (guitars), Doug Hamilton (violin), and Noah Cope (bass), and Miami faculty members Andrea Ridilla (oboe), Aaron Pergram (bassoon), and Chris Tanner (percussion)
