Using cohorts and podcasts for learning global music, an interview by faculty facilitator Dr. Elizabeth Hoover (musicology) with the Miami University Center for Teaching Excellence in Oxford, Ohio.
Dr. Pergram teaches MUS 185, The Diverse Worlds of Music, which explores music as it exists in areas around the world. His approach is ethnomusicological and performance-related, allowing students to investigate music and its relationship to human culture. The music of Asia, especially East Asia, is prominent in his teaching due to professional experience within the region.
