Edit day has come

It has been a long road to get here, but I am thrilled to finally announce that I am heading to Buffalo, New York, to reach a significant career milestone. After months of recording, planning, and dreaming, I am traveling to Mark Custom Recording Service to have my very first album, The Dragon Dream (龍之夢), edited.

For those who have been following the Dragon Dream project, you know this isn’t just a collection of music. It is a deeply personal exploration of heritage, culture, and new music. The album features original bassoon compositions by composers of the Chinese diaspora, capturing a vision of “The Dragon Dream”—an intangible concept that connects youth and heritage to a history of cultural greatness.

Bringing these new works to life has been an honor, but capturing them permanently requires the right partner. That is why I am so excited to work with Mark and his legendary team at Mark Custom Recording.

Based in Clarence, NY, Mark Custom Recording is one of the premier recording services in America. They are known worldwide for their pristine work with major bands, orchestras, and classical soloists. To sit in the studio with Mark and polish these tracks is the final, crucial step in sharing this music with the world.

This trip represents the finish line of a journey that started years ago—from my time teaching in Suzhou to my work now at Miami University. It is surreal to think that soon, these pieces will be finalized and ready for you to hear.

Stay tuned for updates from the studio and for the official release date!
